COVID-19 Policies
As of 05/27/22 I have received two doses and two boosters of the Pfizer mRNA coronavirus vaccine. Since the Buncombe County mandate expired on 2/16/22, and the vast majority of my patients are both vaccinated and boosted, I no longer require masks to be worn during appointments. If you wish to wear a mask to your appointment I will wear one as well.- Please do not come in if you have COVID-19, have recently been exposed to someone who has it, or if you have recently tested positive, even if you are asymptomatic.
- I only book one patient at a time and reserve space between patients to clean and run the extraction fan to clear the air.
- If you need refills of an herbal formula, no need to come in. I can set you up with my distributor's simple online patient fulfillment program so you can order them directly. You are also welcome to pick them up curbside or I can order them for you and have them mailed directly to your residence.
- As is required by my licensure, I have been certified in Clean Needle Technique since 2007, a course that covers hygiene and safety standards in the prevention of communicable disease transmission.
- Please understand that COVID-19 is not a Chinese medicine diagnosis and that my licensure does not permit me to diagnose or treat this disease.
- Please understand that COVID-19 is highly transmissible and your treatment may create circumstances under which it may be contracted.
- I do not charge for missed appointments or late cancellations due to COVID-19. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please follow the CDC guidelines below regarding quarantine.
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19, the CDC recommends quarantining for 5 days. If you have no symptoms after 5 days or if your symptoms are resolving, you can end your quarantine. However, if you still have a fever you should continue to quarantine until it resolves. Either way, after your quarantine ends the CDC recommends that you wear a mask for an additional 5 days whenever you are around other people.
- If you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are up to date on your vaccines, the CDC recommends taking a test on day 5 and wearing a mask around other people for 10 days. If you have been exposed and are not up to date on your vaccines, the CDC recommends quarantining for 5 days, testing on day 5, and wearing a mask when you are around other people for 10 days. If you develop symptoms and/or test positive, follow the guidelines above.
